For me, every painting begins with a feeling. Sometimes clear, sometimes vague.
Landing in Color was born during a time when everything was happening simultaneously. Worrying, planning, organizing... and in between, trying to make time for myself. Maybe you recognize this too: giving so much, but sometimes losing yourself a little.

This work became a kind of pause for me. A reminder of what rest can do, and how growth often arises in the moments you almost miss.

What Landing in Color stands for

This print is about coming home to yourself .
About finding a balance between soft and powerful.
Between bloom and rest.

The flower and the butterfly symbolize growth. But not the rapid, visible kind. It's the kind of growth that takes time, that happens in layers, and that becomes stronger when you take yourself seriously, even on difficult days.

Gold leaf plays an important role in this.
The 23k gold details are a reminder of the light that is always there, even when you don't feel it.
It has a very subtle sheen. Not harsh, not overdone.
It moves with the daylight, just as you move with what life demands of you.

What makes this print special

This print is different from my previous prints.
Not only because it is finished with 23k gold leaf, but because I finish each piece by hand .
Each print is therefore unique. No two prints are the same.

How I apply gold leaf (for those interested)

I often hear that people are curious about this process.
So here it is:

1. I remove all dust from the print with a soft cloth.

2. Then I decide exactly where the gold leaf should go.

3. Using a thin brush, I apply very little gold leaf glue.

4. This must first dry properly, a little patience is important... otherwise it will become sticky.

5. Very carefully I press the gold leaf into sheets in the right places.

6. Once everything is nice and dry, I brush away any residue with a soft brush.

It's precise work, but I love doing it. It literally gives each print a little extra attention.

All prints are shipped in a sturdy tube so they arrive safely.
And I wrap everything as if it were a present, because I want you to get that feeling when you unwrap it.
