She Carries the Wild is a mixed media work on paper, in which different techniques come together to form an emotionally charged image. The background, built up with spray paint, forms an energetic and almost uncontrollable underlayer. Acrylic paint was used on top of this and finally finished in oil paint, in which details such as the zebra, flowers and patterns form a whole. The patterns from the background return in the animal and the environment — as a symbol of the connection between man, animal and nature.
A subtle hint of gold catches the light, as a reminder of inner strength and brilliance that is not always immediately apparent, but always present.
